This policy explains what information the Android app "Dictionary: Dummy to Punny" (the "app") uses. The app is made by Vincent Vellis, an individual developer ("I", "me").
The short version
- No account and no sign-up. I don't ask for your name, email or any personal details.
- The dictionary, lessons, flashcards and your progress are stored only on your phone.
- I don't run any servers and I don't receive your data.
- The games show ads from Google AdMob. Google may collect some device information to show ads, as explained below.
- An optional one-time purchase ("Remove ads") is handled by Google Play.
Information stored on your phone
Your saved words (My Words), lesson and grammar progress, game scores, levels and trophies, and your settings are saved on your device. They are not sent to me. If Android backup is turned on, Android may include this learning data in your Google account backup, under Google's own privacy terms. You can delete all of it by clearing the app's data or uninstalling the app.
Advertising (Google AdMob)
The games in the app show ads provided by Google AdMob: an optional ad you can choose to watch for a bonus (an extra life or double XP), and an occasional full-screen ad between games. The dictionary pages, lessons and grammar book do not show ads.
To show ads, measure them and prevent fraud, Google may collect and use information such as your device's advertising ID, IP address, device and app information, and how you interact with ads. Ads may be personalised depending on your choices and the law where you live. Users in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland are asked for consent through Google's consent form, and can change their choice at any time from "Ad privacy choices" on the app's Remove ads page.
You can reset or delete your advertising ID, or opt out of personalised ads, in your phone's settings (Settings › Google › Ads, or Settings › Privacy › Ads, depending on your phone).

Purchases
The "Remove ads" purchase is processed by Google Play. I don't see or store your payment details. The app only checks with Google Play whether you own the purchase, so it can turn off the ads and restore your purchase on a new phone.
Internet use
The dictionary and learning features work fully offline. The app uses the internet only to load ads in the games and to check your purchase with Google Play. Links to sources open in your browser only when you tap them.
Children
The app is a general learning app and is not specifically directed at children under 13. I do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the app, contact me and I will help remove it.
Your choices
- Change your ad consent: Remove ads page › Ad privacy choices (where available).
- Stop personalised ads or reset your advertising ID in your phone's settings.
- Remove all ads with the one-time Remove ads purchase.
- Delete all app data by clearing the app's storage or uninstalling it.
